My Heart is Full

It is Sunday afternoon and I have had a full heart all day. I have been reflecting a lot on Joseph Smiths life and while reading in the scriptures I ran across this scripture. I wanted to post it...It touched me today.

--Joseph Smith History 1:25--

"So it was with me, I had actually seen a light, and in the midst of that light I saw two personages, and they did in reality speak to me; and though I was hated and persecuted for saying that I had seen a vision, yet it was true; and while they were persecuting me, reviling me, and speaking all manner of evil against me falsely for so saying, I was led to say in my heart: Why persecute me for telling the truth? I have actually seen a vision; and who am I that I can withstand God, or why does the world think to make me deny what I have actually seen? For I had seen a vision; I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dared I do it, at least I knew that by so doing I would offend God, and come under condemnation."

Kiddie Valentines to make...I heart this idea! I really miss MSK magazine. This is really so simple and very cute. I heart really any idea made with a paper bag.

National Red Day

It is National wear Red Day... and the only reason I know that is because my kids told me they needed to wear Red today. Here are some really great photos for that honor.

Savannah's 10th Birthday

We had a great time celebrating Savannah's Birthday. She had so much fun and really wanted new roller blades.

We went to Sweet Cakes and had a cookie. She thinks that's much better than a cake! We had a little Super Bowl Party the next day since she was born 10 years ago on Super Bowl Sunday.
Even though the Cardinals didn't win...We still had a great time!

Word of the Year 2009

I have been thinking about what word I would like to choose for my word to reflect on throughout the year and I have decided on PERSEVERANCE...I love to think about all the people who have been so faithful and diligent in their lives..The Pioneers who never gave up in spite of all there difficulties they faced. Joseph Smith and for his knowledge and determination to restore the Gospel on Earth. For, the men and women who serve and fight for our Country. I think about my dear Grandma Hogle who worked so very hard to support her family and for all her many many talents. She is a great example to me. I think about my very own mother who through difficult times raised her children with love, kindness, and is the most unselfish person I know. I could go on, but this is a word that means so much to me and I will reflect upon this and try to better myself throughout the year.

Definition: perseverance
1.
steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.

Definition:
diligence, hard work
Synonyms:
backbone*, constancy, continuance, cool, dedication, determination, doggedness, drive, endurance, grit*, guts*, immovability, indefatigability, moxie*, persistence, pertinacity, pluck*, prolonging, purposefulness, pursuance, resolution, sedulity, spunk, stamina, steadfastness

Here is a quote I love:

"Perseverance means to continue in a given course until we have reached a goal or objective, regardless of obstacles, opposition, and other counter influences...Perseverance is a positive, active characteristic...It gives us hope by helping us realize that the righteous suffer no failure except in giving up and no longer trying." ..Joseph B.
