LOng time Friends
We are reconnected! After all these year we got together at Karen Z. house this past Friday night. It has been at least 15 years since I have seen a few of these ladies, but let me tell you it seemed just like 20 years ago back in HS. It was such a delight to sit and visit with them. We got caught up on all kinds of stories about children, husbands, and yes even our health. As you know we are all in our 40+ years, but you know what, it doesn't even seem like it. On far left of the picture is Shelley (makracken) Palmer who is still a fitness expert. She has 7 (yes 7) children. Her and John have been married for 19 years. Next to her is me, and then we come to April Lopez who is married for 12 years. She works full time, has no children but is very interested in adoption. She run 7 miles everyday! Then we have Karen Zaharis next to her. We got together at her home, which is just lovely. She made homemade pizza and it was just divine! She has 6 children and as been married over 20 years. Next is Jeannine Jones who has 3 children and currently lives in Pima County! That's right, she drove 2 hrs that night! She is Awesome and joined the church later after HS. I love it. Then, Lorie Tucker who has 4 Children and has also been married for 20+ yrs. She has ran in 2 ( I said 2) Iron man races and is currently training for her next marathon. These ladies are wonderful! I loved every minute we spent together and we laughed and laughed...Good friends, good times, and fabulous memories!! I love you girls!

Sadie is Six! We had a little bit of cake and a little bit of presents. I went on a field trip with her in the morning and saw the butterfly exhibit at the Botanical Gardens. That was really fun. I forgot my camera and I was a little sad about that because she had several butterflies land on her. Afterwards we got Savannah out of school, and headed for the new movie Monsters vs Aliens which was a cute show. We had a great day. We topped off the day with cake and presents!! She had a great time as you can tell by her face. xoxo

Spring Break in Utah
We went to Utah for Spring Break and this picture is just outside the Porter house. The weather was perfect...I got my wish of sorta warm weather. The view here is beautiful! The best part was seeing all the Family and especially Elder Porter (Aka Nik). It was just great. We had so much fun going here and there. Good food and Awesome company! We heard lots of great missionary stories and I felt so blessed to have so many great examples around me. A big thanks to Nik for his fine example to all of his little cousins who look up and admire him! More pictures on the way. :) We love You!! <3

Trevor gave a talk in Sacrament meeting
Trevor gave his first talk in church Sunday. He did a great job and was very at ease while speaking. He gave his testimony at the end. He expressed how he knows the church is true. He shared his love for the Savior and for his Family. He said, "I know that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet who translated the Book of Mormon." My heart was full and I couldn't help but think of the seven short years until he will be a servant of our heavenly Father. We are proud of how he is firm about what he believes in. It is my prayer that he will always stay firm and strong in his beliefs. This is a copy of his talk, I wanted to post it so I would have it recorded.
I have been asked to speak on love.
When Jesus was on the earth, a lawyer asked him what the greatest commandment was. Jesus said the first is to love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. The second is to love your neighbor as yourself.
To love the Lord with all your heart and mind means to put him first in your life. Nephi, a prophet in the Book of Mormon, was a great example of showing love for the Lord. He never complained when asked to leave his home and possessions. He lived in the wilderness for eight years. He endured persecution from his brothers Laman and Lemuel, but he remained true to the Lord. Nephi said, I will go and do the things which the Lord has commanded, for I know that he giveth no commandments unto the children of men save he shall prepare a way that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.
To love our neighbors as ourselves means to be kind to them and to help them. For example, we can make dinner for them after their mother has a baby. We can mow the lawn for them when they are out of town.
In the October 2008 general conference, Elder Holland told a great story about love. He told the story of an Idaho boy who was supposed to round up the cows each night at milking time. The field that the cows were in was by the Teton river, which was sometimes dangerous. His father told him never to cross the river to get any cows. One Saturday, this boy was told that the family would go to the movies if all of the chores were done on time. When the boy arrived at the pasture, he noticed that one of the cows had crossed the river. The boy didn’t want to miss a night at the movies, so he decided to disobey his father and cross the river anyway. The river was so high, that the boy could barely make it across the river. It was starting to get dark, and the boy was wet, cold, and scared. The boy decided to pray for help and asked his Heavenly Father to forgive him for disobeying his father. After he finished his prayer, the boy looked up and saw a man coming towards him dressed in white. At first, he thought it was an angel. But, as the man got closer and started speaking, he realized it was his father. The boy hugged his father and thanked him. The boy’s father showed great love to him even though he had disobeyed him. This is how our Heavenly Father loves us. When we make mistakes, he hears our prayers and is always willing to help us.
We should also love one another with this same kind of love.
In John chapter 13 versus 34 and 35, Jesus said,
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye alove one another; as I have loved you, that ye also blove one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have alove one to another.

Funny choice of words
This morning while pancakes my son and I had a interesting conversation. He had the news on and they were talking about how you can genetically pick out the characteristic and sex of your child. The conversation went something like this:
Trevor: "Hey Mom, Did you know that you can now design you own child??"
Me: "What!" I wasn't sure what he was talking about. You mean what they wear?
Trevor: NO I mean, what you want them to look like...color eyes..color hair..how tall
that sort of thing.
Me: I had to laugh and laugh..design I thought. What a funny choice of words. So I
said, wow that's pretty crazy that you can design you own baby. Whats this world coming
to?
Trevor: Why is that funny? I think it's pretty cool..I think you should design and have another
child.
Me: Laugh..well I am just to old for that, and I don't think I would be into that whole designing a baby thing anyway.
Trevor: Well if you change you mind..can you PLEASE make sure it's a BOY! That would be
my only request.
Me: Laugh, Laugh Laugh...I told him you made me laugh this morning and I think that is a
great way to start my day.
Trevor: Laughed along too
Me: btw...I told him I think I just might have to blog about this today. Sry about the crazy sidway picture :)
